Quick answers to the most common questions

ZS Sections is a Shopify app that gives you a library of premium, prebuilt sections — Hero banners, product grids, galleries, FAQs, testimonials, and more — that install directly into your Shopify theme with one click.

You can also order fully custom sections through our Request Section feature. Browse the library, install what you need, customize through the theme editor — everything happens inside the app.

Open the Explore Sections tab in the app and browse the library. Click any section to preview it. For free sections, click Install — the file is pushed to your theme instantly. For premium sections, click Buy — Shopify will show you the charge to approve, and once approved, the section installs automatically.

Then go to Online Store → Themes → Customize → Add Section and look for sections with the zs prefix.

Not at all. Every section installs with one click and is fully editable through Shopify's drag-and-drop theme editor. You can change text, images, colors, spacing, layout, and more — without touching a single line of code. If you're a developer, you can also access the section's source code in your theme files.

Open theMy Sectionstab in the app. You'll see every installed section grouped by theme, along with its status, install date, and anOpen in Editorbutton that takes you straight to the Shopify theme customizer.

In the Shopify theme editor, open any page (homepage, product page, collection, etc.) and clickAdd section. Look for sections with thezsprefix — that's where all ZS Sections appear. Click to add, then customize.

Yes — every section in the Explore tab has a live preview where you can see exactly how it looks and behaves before purchasing. We also include 30+ free sections you can install instantly to experience the workflow before committing to any premium ones.

Absolutely. ZS Sections only requests the minimum permissions needed to install section files into your theme. We never access customer data, orders, or sensitive store information. All payments are processed securely through Shopify's official Billing API — we never see or store your payment details.

All payments are processed exclusively through Shopify's official Billing API. When you buy a premium section or approve a custom Request Section quote, Shopify shows you the charge for approval in your admin. Approved charges are added to your regular Shopify bill — no separate credit card, no external account, no payment information to enter.

You can view all charges under Shopify Admin → Settings → Billing.

ZS Sections never processes payments outside Shopify. Every charge — premium sections, custom requests, bundles — goes through Shopify Billing.

Every section is aone-time purchase— pay once, own forever. No recurring fees, no hidden charges. Free sections stay free. Premium sections remain accessible to reinstall, even if you uninstall and reinstall the app later. You also receive all future updates at no extra cost.

Yes — we offer a 30-day money-back guarantee on every prebuilt section. Since all charges are processed via Shopify Billing, refunds are issued back through your Shopify account. Contact us through the app's Support section with your order details, and we'll initiate the refund through Shopify within 24 hours.

For custom Request Section orders: full refund before development starts; partial refund based on progress once development has begun.

Free sections are simpler designs we provide as starter templates — fully functional and production-ready, but with standard features. Premium sections are advanced designs with extra features like animations, interactive elements, complex layouts, or specialized integrations that took significantly more design and development effort.

Yes. Bundle promotions appear directly inside the app when active — you'll see savings applied at the time of purchase, processed through Shopify Billing like any other charge. Look out for bundle banners in the Explore tab.

Your purchase history stays linked to your Shopify store through Shopify's billing system. If you reinstall the app later, all previously purchased sections will be available to reinstall at no extra cost. Section files already in your theme will continue to work even if the app is uninstalled, since they live as standard Shopify Liquid files.

Since all payments go through Shopify Billing, your invoices are managed by Shopify. Open your Shopify admin and go toSettings → Billing → Billsto download official invoices, see line items for each ZS Sections charge, and access tax-compliant documentation.

Yes — every section comes with full color and font controls in the theme editor. Adjust background colors, text colors, font family, font size, button styles, spacing, and more — all without any coding.

Most sections support dynamic blocks — add, remove, or reorder them directly in the theme editor. Each section's detail page in the app lists how many blocks are supported (for example, "up to 6 text blocks" or "unlimited gallery images").

Yes — every section pulls media from your Shopify Files library. Upload your own images, videos, or use Shopify's free stock photos. Recommended formats: JPG/PNG/WebP for images and MP4 for videos. All media is auto-optimized for performance.

Yes — once installed, the section file lives in your theme's / sectionsfolder. Developers can edit the Liquid, CSS, or JS directly in the Shopify theme code editor. Note: future updates may overwrite custom code changes, so keep a backup if you make substantial modifications.

Most sections include a "Custom CSS class" input field in the theme editor. Add your class name there, then style it from your theme's theme. css file. This is the recommended way to apply brand-specific tweaks without modifying the section file directly.

Settings you've configured in the theme editor (text, colors, images, blocks, layout) arenever lostduring updates. However, direct edits to section source code may be overwritten when we push updates. For lasting code-level customizations, use the "Custom CSS class" approach instead.

Yes — all sections are built for Shopify Online Store 2.0and work with every modern theme, including Dawn, Sense, Studio, Horizon, Craft, Refresh, and most third-party themes from the Shopify Theme Store. Vintage themes (pre-2021) may have limited compatibility.

Yes — switch the active theme in the dropdown at the top of My Sections and click install again. One purchase covers unlimited themes within your store, including duplicate copies for testing. No extra Shopify Billing charges apply.

Sections are tied to specific themes, so when you switch to a new theme, you'll need to reinstall them. Open the new theme in My Sections and click Install— it's instant and free since you've already purchased.

No. Every section is built with optimized, lightweight code — lazy-loaded images, minimized render-blocking scripts, and Shopify's performance best practices. Your store's Page Speed score stays high.

No — sections are scoped using unique CSS class names so they never interfere with your theme's existing styles, JavaScript, or other sections. Each section is fully self-contained.

By default, sections use your theme's heading and body fonts so they blend naturally with the rest of your store. You can override this in the section's settings if you want different fonts for that specific section.

Yes — duplicating your theme is recommended before installing new sections. Switch the dropdown to your duplicate (unpublished) theme, install and test there, then publish when you're happy with the result.

Removing a section from My Sections instantly deletes the Liquid file from your theme. If the section was being used on a live page, that block will disappear from the page. You can reinstall it any time from the same section page since you've already purchased it.

Request Section is the feature for ordering a fully custom Shopify section — designed and built by our team to your exact specifications. When the prebuilt library doesn't have exactly what you need, this is how you get a tailored section.

Submit your requirements, receive a fixed-price quote in the app, approve the charge through Shopify Billing, and we deliver the finished section directly into your theme. The entire process happens inside this app — no external payments, no invoice emails, no card details to enter anywhere.

The full Request Section flow has six steps:

  1. Submit your request — Open the Request Section tab, choose your section type, describe your requirements in detail, attach reference images if needed, and submit.
  2. We review (within 24 hours) — Our team reviews your specs and prepares a tailored fixed-price quote with delivery timeline.
  3. Quote appears in My Requests — Your quote arrives inside the app in the My Requests tab. You'll see the final price, scope, delivery date, and an Approve button.
  4. Approve via Shopify Billing — Click Approve & Build. Shopify shows you the charge in your admin for approval — same flow as any premium section purchase.
  5. We build it — Once Shopify confirms your approved payment, our team begins development. Typical delivery is 3 to 14 days based on complexity.
  6. Install to your theme — When complete, the section appears in My Sections as a one-click installable block, just like our prebuilt sections.

Everything stays inside Shopify. Submitting a request is free. You're only charged when you approve the quote, and that charge goes through Shopify Billing.

Most quotes are ready within 24 hours of submission. You'll be notified inside the app when your quote is ready to review in the My Requests tab. Complex or unusual requests may take up to 48 hours.

Our team reviews your specific requirements — section type, complexity, features (animations, video, integrations), and delivery timeline — and prepares a fair fixed-price quote.

The pricing ranges shown on the Request Section page are indicative examples only — your actual quote may be higher or lower depending on what you need. You'll see the final fixed price in your My Requests tab before deciding whether to approve.

All custom sections are charged exclusively through the Shopify Billing API — just like prebuilt sections. After you receive your quote in the My Requests tab and click Approve & Build, Shopify shows you the charge for approval inside your Shopify admin.

There is no external payment, no invoice emails, no card entry, no PayPal or Stripe. Everything stays securely within Shopify. The charge appears on your regular Shopify bill alongside your Shopify subscription.

Development timelines depend on complexity. Typical ranges:

  • Simple sections — around 3 days
  • Standard sections — around 5 to 7 days
  • Advanced custom sections — around 7 to 14 days

The exact delivery date is shown in your quote in the My Requests tab before you approve. We'll send a notification inside the app when your section is ready to install.

Yes, at any point before delivery:

  • Before approving the quote — Discard the request from My Requests. No payment has been made.
  • After Shopify approval but before development starts — Full refund processed back through Shopify Billing within 24 hours.
  • After development starts — Partial refund based on progress (typically 50% if cancelled mid-development), processed through Shopify Billing.

All refunds are issued back through Shopify, never as external payments.

Once development is complete, your custom section automatically appears in your My Sections tab as a one-click installable block — exactly like our prebuilt sections. You'll get a notification inside the app when it's ready.

Click Install to theme, then use it in the Shopify theme editor (look for the zs prefix). The section comes with full theme editor customization just like any prebuilt section.
